The academy has done it again. They have gifted me with an early birthday present. And for that, I take my hat off. For I have just learned that Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin will be co-hosting the 2010 Academy Awards. Can you believe this? It’s like peanut butter and chocolate. Versace and leather. Brandon and Steve!

In a statement on The Insider, Alec said, “I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars,” he said. “It’s the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Me? I’m over-da-moon. This will be an awards show like no other. You are brilliant, members of the academy. I lava you.
