Baxter brought glamour back. Can the Fly Girls?
Two new reality shows I learned about this week: Fly Girls and an untitled project following New York socialite Tinsley Mortimer (I prefer Tinserson Mortimus). Both have been given the green-light to air on The CW Network midseason.
Fly Girls-Our first of two new sparklesome “docu-series” (let’s be serious. It’s reality, which is the RC Cola of television) follows the fabulous lives of select Virgin America flight attendants.
“This show is about real, down-to-earth young women who happen to have landed in an exceptionally glamorous, high-flying career filled with exotic locations and handsome strangers,â€-Kristen Vadas, Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming, The CW.
Listen, I’m the child of a veteran flight attendant and I know for a fact that the hey-day of flying is over. Gone are the high-times when being a “stewardess” was actually a sought-after job. I just got off a flight that made me pay $6 for a piece of cheese. I miss the crappy airplane food and the contaminated pillows. Even first class isn’t elegant anymore. There is nothing glamorous about flying these days. I flew Virigin America out to Los Angeles and while it was a step up from most airplanes-cum-cattle cars (I’m looking at you, Southwest), it was not a throwback to yesteryear. The jet-setting attitude is gone and I dare Fly Girls to bring it back. Triple dare them.
Unnamed Tinsley Mortimer Project: New York socialite Tinsley Mortimer will have her own half-hour “docu-series” on The CW as well. It will follow the life and times of the teeny-tiny Tinsy and her Park-Avenue-Princess life. Super. Shouldn’t this be airing on Bravo instead? No date or title has been set for this Pulitzer-Prize shoe-in of a series.
And to wrap things up, we bid farewell to The Beautiful Life after just two episodes. Us Magazine reported today that the series was pulled by The CW due to low viewership. Back to Disney you go, Corbin Bleu.

Hahaha Corbin Bleu!!
Kel- Great analysis! I agree this next show is going to blow. I wonder what happened with this other show. Was it really that bad? Also, I really like The Good Wife. But, let's be honest, obviously I would.
Mischa Barton's voice is super annoying.
