The Bachelorette Taping Gets A Rose

changing in our makeshift dressing room outside the studio

I had the magical fortune of attending The Bachelorette: After The Final Rose taping last week in LA.  It was a grand old time.  Mr. Mike was kind enough to drive us to Logan and we hopped hopped hopped on a plane to LAX.  Immediately after de-planing, we hopped into a Rav-4 and hauled-ass to Glendale, where the studio is located.  Like the class-acts we were raised to be, the girls and I changed on a side street before making our national debut on tv (waaaay in the back).
It’s true what they say.  The starlets are tinier in person.  Melissa was minute and Jillian was such a little peanut.  Teensie weensie.  Although after seeing myself through the lens more than once, it’s safe to say my time is best spent on the other side of the camera.
Kipton was even better-looking in person, but I don’t agree with people when they say he should be the next Bachelor.  He’s adorable, but there’s nothing about him that would make me watch.  I’m sure there are MILLIONS of you out there who disagreee with me.  Too bad.
Reid struck me as a bit of a crap weasel.  I could tell he wanted to say some really snarky things to Jillian because he’s still hurting.  I wonder what he was going to ask about the fantasy suite.  What a turd.
I was supposed to be in line to ask Reid a question, but that pre-pubescent whippet wasted good airtime with her silly dating questions.  I suppose it made for good tv. Wah Wah.  I had a very dramatic question to ask, btw.  What was it, you ask? I guess we’ll never know.  PS-that was me behind her.  Hi mom!
I didn’t pay much attention to Jillian during the episodes, but my opinion of her went up about 100 points during the taping.  She seemed like a very genuine person, psyched about her good fortune to be on television and to find a great guy.
After the taping ended, my friends and I got to meet Chris Harrison, who then introduced us to Jillian and Ed.  Ahhh, ladies.  For those of you on Team Ed, he is more handsome in person and, yes, he is tall.  Jillian and Ed were both very personable and chatted with us a little bit about our plans for the weekend, etc. Very cool, very normal people and I’m happy for them.

Chris Harrison is also a very nice guy and introduced us to the director and creator of The Bachelor/Bachelorette series, Mike Fleiss.   Mr. Fleiss was also uber-nice and seemed to take an interest in our opinion on the next bachelor.  I vote Jake.  Chris Harrison strongly disagreed with me.  I have no idea why.

Since we weren’t allowed to bring phones/cameras into the studio, I didn’t get to take any of pictures of my super-duper encounters.   But if you ask nicely, I’ll do an interpretive dance to showcase everything I saw.  I promise to leave nothing out.

Many franks to the O’Donnell girls for making this happen.  Joe-I’m sorry I made it the worst vacation of their life.  Thanks also to American Airline’s Victor for sticking to the rules and not giving Molly a tomato juice because she was too far across the aisle.  Turbulance is no laughing matter, Molly.  Also a thanks to Hertz for giving a party of six a five-seater Rav-4.  Your overwhelming concern for our safety will remain with me always.  Especially when I’m picking my car up at a better rental agency.
